Veteran

Austin Retired from the Tennessee Army National Guard after 28 years of service including deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. He received multiple awards for his service including a Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Combat Action Badge, and a Meritorious Service Medal.

Service

Austin was the Chairman of the Republican Party of Rutherford County from 2010-2013 and returned in 2021-2025 occupying the same role. He has also served as the Secretary for the National Guard Insurance Trust of Tennessee. He also served as president of the Riverdale Football Quarterback Club from 2010-2013. Austin also coached his son’s youth football team(s) in the Murfreesboro Parks & Rec league.

Personal

Austin completed his undergraduate degree from the University of Tennessee and recieved his MBA from MTSU. He currently works as an executive for a leading healthcare and pharmaceutical company. He and his Wife, Claire Maxwell, raised 4 children in Murfreesboro and they attend First Baptist Church on Main Street.
